My areas of expertise include home construction, real estate development, and financing of single-family homes. I have a long-standing knowledge of the property, now known as “The Homes at Berry Ridge”. I have worked with the developer for several years on various development options for this very special property.
My extensive development and real estate experience in Blacksburg includes being a “hands-on” investor and developer of several single-family subdivisions, construction management of three personal high-end homes, and coordination with builders in the Blacksburg area for 40+ years. I have previously served as President of the New Valley Homebuilders Association, President of the Blacksburg Economic Partnership, member of Town of Blacksburg Planning Commission, and currently sit on the New River Community College Board and Carilion Hospital Board.
As past President and CEO of Draper Aden Associates (a major civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering firm specializing in the design of residential, retail, office, and multi-family developments), I have been involved in the many complex phases of local real estate development since 1972. Upon retirement from Draper Aden Associates, I am continuing my career through association with Coldwell Banker Townside REALTORS in Blacksburg while specializing in sales of high-end residential and commercial properties.

In November 2008, the company changed its name to Legacy Builders NRV, Inc. and added the logo, Where Integrity Resides, to better reflect the quality of homes and projects built by the company and complement the clients they serve.
Owned equally by Nancy W. Phillips and Jerry L. Christian, the partners have over 67 years of combined construction experience. Legacy Builders NRV, Inc. holds a Class A (2705 0410850A) General Contractors license with the Commonwealth of Virginia. The class A designation is the highest level available, allowing the holder unrestricted authority to build all types of residential or commercial construction.
Developer
The Lester Group is a diverse company that George Tilden Lester founded in 1896 in Martinsville.
